Yes, I know! Spring training officially started a month ago.
Yes, I know! My vacation officially began Sunday.
But for me, both began today when i stepped off the plane in Orlando, Florida.
I flew here today to watch the Astros play Grapefruit League ball.

For the next four days I intend to show up at Osceola County Stadium, bask in the sun (three of the four games have a 1:05 start time), drink beer and watch the Astros shake off the cobwebs gathered over the winter months.

Attending some Astros spring training games has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. I’m not exactly sure why. It’s an intagible. Sort of a baseball pilgrimage. But I’ve realized that dream at last … and now I will share it with you.
I even bought a new camera so that I might be able to share the experience with you, my friends.
And so it begins… stay tuned.

I have changed this site so many times recently.
There’s nothing hard about the actual process of creating a website. It’s deciding what you want your website to be about that is difficult. It has to be something that you’re passionate about or you lose interest (or at least I do) and the site becomes stale and dies a slow death.
Originally, this site was about blogs and my quest to find the best. At the time I began, there were probably hundreds of thousands of blogs out there and THEN the blog world exploded. Now everyone and their dog (literally) has a blog. It became overwhelming trying to keep up so I moved on.
Next came my decision to try to keep up with what was going on in our process to elect a president this year. What can I say? Like most Americans, I’m just really not that interested. As long as my job is there and I’m allowed to exist in relative peace and obscurity I just don’t really give a crap who’s president.
So I looked around and tried to figure out what it was that I was really passionate about. What was it that has held my interest for most of my life?
Of Course! Baseball.
More particularly, Astros Baseball.
I’ve been an Astros fan since the 60’s when I used to sit out in the backyard with my grandfather in San Antonio and listen to the games on one of those pocket sized (if they were huge assed pockets) AM transistor radios. I’m not a rabid fan. I can’t quote statistics… don’t even know all the players. But I love the game and the Astros always have been and probably always will be my team.
So, here then is my attempt to share my love of baseball in general and the Astros in particular with you.
More to come soon.
Enjoy.
